3Rs Centre Utrecht
Utrecht UniversityThe mission of the 3Rs Centre Utrecht (3RCU) is to reduce the use of laboratory animals in research and education. To do so, we follow the three Rs of Replacement, Reduction and Refinement (in Dutch: 3Vs of Vervanging, Vermindering en Verfijning), with a primary focus on Replacement.
ARCADIA
Utrecht Science ParkARCADIA, part of UMC Utrecht's Central Diagnostic Laboratory, bridges life science research and routine diagnostics. It offers an ISO9001 environment and advanced technologies to assist researchers in biomarker discovery and validation, delivering comprehensive analytical services in a leading academic hospital in the Netherlands.

Explore facilities contributing to more sustainable life sciences research and healthcare innovation. These services support circularity, greener lab practices, sustainable materials, environmental impact reduction and responsible resource use.
Exposome-Scan
Utrecht UniversityA joint Leiden–Utrecht University infrastructure using high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS, GC-MS) to simultaneously measure thousands of chemicals — pesticides, pollutants, metabolites, pharmaceuticals — in blood, urine, and hair. It enables agnostic, hypothesis-free exposure profiling in large population cohorts, linking complex chemical mixtures to health outcomes and pharmaco-exposomics applications.
High throughput Screening Facility
Utrecht Science ParkThe high-throughput screening facility is a large, advanced robotic system. Our goal is to enable laboratory automation of large-scale experiments, with a focus on drug screening. The research purpose is: Automation of laboratory experiments.
Ombion Centre for Animal-free Biomedical Translation
Utrecht Science ParkOmbion Centre for Animal-Free Biomedical Translation is a centre for valorisation and dissemination of animal-free innovations and expertise. We aim to improve and accelerate the translation of new biomedical innovations to patients and users, at lower costs, and without the use of animals. We offer a professional network, courses, and labs for automation, demonstration and education.
